GENEVA, Ill. – A third person in Illinois has died from swine flu.
Officials with the Kane County Health Department say a 42-year-old man there died Thursday from complications of the virus.
Health officials say the victim had underlying medical conditions. They say no further information about the man will be released because of privacy concerns.
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 1,002 confirmed cases of swine flu in the state.
Most of those cases are in Chicago and its suburbs.
