The God Squad

Rabbi Marc Gellman and Monsignor Thomas Hartman -- "The God Squad" -- take on spiritual issues with a humorous touch.  But their entertaining banter is part and parcel of their larger purpose, which Gellman says is to "effect some change in the moral landscape."

The rabbi and the monsignor regularly explore spiritual and religious matters on national television. They also host The God Squad, a popular interfaith program on network television.  They have co-authored adult and children's books, including How Do You Spell God?, the subject of an HBO animated special.

Rabbi Gellman is the senior rabbi of the Beth Torah Synagogue in Melville, New York. He earned a doctorate in philosophy with a dissertation in medical ethics from Northwestern University. He has published scholarly articles in the field of Jewish and general medical ethics and has served on the faculty of Northwestern University and Hebrew Union College.

Msgr. Hartman is the Director of Radio and Television for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. He has a national radio show Journeys Through Rock. The winner of three Emmy Awards, a Christopher award and a Folio award, he has earned degrees in philosophy, theology, divinity and ministry.

The God Squad will appear on Fox News Sunday to evaluate the president's decision on stem cell research and discuss the moral implications of the government's funding this type of science.
