In an effort to spotlight new business opportunities in the technology sector, more than 600 of the world's top entrepreneurs, thought leaders, academics, and investors are gathering in Silicon Valley for the fourth-annual Innovation Summit @ Stanford.
This year's summit, held July 25-27, focuses on the democratization of the media. Speakers include CEOs and senior management from companies such as Sony Pictures, Yahoo, DreamWorks, and YouTube, as well as the area's top venture capital firms and professors from Stanford University.

Some of the programs scheduled for the event include:
? Can Entrepreneurship and Innovation Be Taught?
· Has Blogging and Social Networking Changed the Marketing Game?
· Where is Life After the Telephone?
· Does America Still Have a Lock on Innovation?
The event is put on by AlwaysOn, an online social network, and co-hosted by the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, the entrepreneurship center within the Stanford's School of Engineering.
A free, live webcast of the full three-day summit is available. Web audience members will have the opportunity to comment and participate interactively in real-time during discussions and presentation. A large screen that will be viewable to the in-house audience members will show blog comments, questions, and feedback from Web participants.
"It's truly an interactive experience," said Tina Seelig, executive director of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program.
Last year, more than 24,000 people from 119 countries took part in the summit online. "There's no question it's going to be much bigger this year," Seelig said.
