JONESBORO, Ga – A Georgia road named for the plantation in "Gone With the Wind" may get a new name.
There's a movement in suburban Atlanta's Clayton County to rename Tara Boulevard after civil rights icon Rosa Parks. The leader of the group asking the county commission for the name change says the area needs to get off a "plantation mentality" and honor a woman who changed America.
Many of the streets in the county denote the Old South and the Lost Cause: Robert E. Lee Drive, Old Dixie Highway, and Tara Boulevard.
Margaret Mitchell's grand Southern novel was based on Civil War stories told by her great-grandfather, who lived in Clayton County.
