Search On for Teen Son of Dead Lesbian Fugitive

Police were searching the Northwest and Arizona Wednesday for the teenage son of a woman found dead over the weekend in an apparent suicide pact with her lesbian lover.

The bodies of fugitives Tina Rose Loesch, 37, and Skye M. Hanson, 44, were discovered Saturday night in Tucson, Ariz., hours after "America's Most Wanted" aired a profile of the murder-for-insurance-money plot they were accused of orchestrating.

Officials now want to find Loesch's 18-year-old son, Kristopher, who has been missing since 2000, when the women went into hiding following accusations they planned the death of Kristopher's grandmother, Barbara Loesch. Murder warrants were issued for the pair's arrest last month.

"We’ve always wanted to verify his safety," Post Falls police Capt. Scot Haug told FOXNews.com. "We would still like to make sure that he’s OK, get a chance to talk to him and just verify that he did not end up becoming injured or killed because of this case."

Kristopher Loesch was last seen on Aug. 31, 2000, in Spokane, Wash. Authotiries say he may be using the names Robin Kessler or Kristopher Hanson.

"The investigators that have been down in Tucson have learned that the child was down there for a period of time in the late '90s, early 2000, [but] because of some behavior problems, he was sent to live with his father, and we are trying to track down who the father is," Haug said.

No father was listed on Kristopher's birth certificate, but acquaintances of his mother and Hanson have provided some possible names, police said.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which has monitored Kristopher's disappearance from the beginning, has issued bulletins on the missing teen following the discovery of the women's bodies.

"Unfortunately, this is one of those long-term cold cases that frankly we’re just hoping for a lead, for a break,” Ernie Allen, the president of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, said.

Loesch and Hanson were found dead in a white Dodge Durango with gunshot wounds to the head. Suicide notes were found at the scene, investigators told FOXNews.com.

"This is unique and bizarre to have this kind of an ending to this case," Haug said. "We sort of thought it would end in a traditional way, where we would have arrests made, and we would go through a trial. But it looks like, from what we are learning in our investigation, that the pressure just got to be too much for these young women."

The discovery of the women's bodies closes the 1998 murder case of Barbara Loesch, found electrocuted in a hot tub with a television set. Bradley Steckman, who confessed to the murder in 2003, told police that Tina Loesch and Hanson orchestrated the murder after Tina talked her mother into obtaining a $500,000 life insurance policy that listed her as the beneficiary. Steckman said he was promised $10,000 to do kill the mother.

Police in Kootenai County, Idaho, are still investigating the 1995 shooting death of Tina Loesch's father, Gary Loesch, who was killed while delivering newspapers. The suicide note left by Loesch reportedly professed her innocence in her father's death, though the father and daughter had sparred over her sexuality, according to America's Most Wanted.

Officials hope that renewed interest in the case will help find Kristopher.

"There's a chance he could be in Tucson; there's a chance he could be in Washington. At this point, we just really don't know," Dep. Dawn Barkman of the Pima County Sheriff's Office said. "But we do have a good network here with the citizens of the county and the city. If he's out there and someone has seen him, we're confident someone will call."
