Reasonable Questions for an Unreasonable Time

But for those of you who didn't have a problem with the old republic, I think this special is more aptly titled: "Reasonable Questions for an Unreasonable Time."
By the end of this week, I hope that you'll have a clearer understanding of what might be happening in Washington; a better idea of what to do about it and, more importantly, you'll begin to see that this isn't about: Barack Obama.

Many people will ask you: If these things are true, why is it that only Glenn Beck is saying them?
Believe me, I have asked myself the same question many nights — usually at 2 a.m., when I couldn't sleep because no one else is asking these questions. It could just be that I'm wrong. It's one of my greatest desires that I am.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}This week, I'll be giving you some of my opinions — and they are just that: my opinions. But they are certainly shaped by facts and research. By the end of each show you'll most likely have more questions than answers.
My search for answers has come from the same place that your questions have come from. I'm no different than you — I just have researchers. But here are some things that almost all of us can agree just don't make sense:
— How does spending trillions of dollars fix the economy? Can we spend our way out of debt? Or, as George Bush said:

— Congress is voting on massive 1,000-plus page bills that no one is reading and they're mocking the fact that you want them to:

{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}REP. JOHN CONYERS, D-MICH.: I love these members, they get up and say, "Read the bill." What good is reading the bill if it's 1,000 pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?

— Why is it that whenever President Obama has a gathering of supporters, it's a grassroots movement, but whenever Americans protest his policies, it's "Astroturf" — artificial.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}— Who are these "czars"? What do they do? What power do they have? Are they constitutional?
— Why is necessary to completely overhaul health care nearly overnight — even though any changes wouldn't even go into effect until 2013? And what is so bad about our current system? Yes, I agree that there are some issues — things that we'd all like to fix. But is it so bad that we must fundamentally change our entire system?
— How can they pass a 1,500-page climate bill that would cause our electricity rates to skyrocket:

Since the answers that Washington is giving us don't make any sense, I have to find something that does and the hour is growing late. I can't help but express to you: Time is of the essence.
