Prosecutor: Mom Intentionally Cooked Baby in Microwave

A prosecutor says an Ohio mother intentionally put her month-old baby in a microwave oven and cooked the child to death.

Assistant Montgomery County prosecutor Daniel Brandt leveled the charge Thursday during closing arguments in the retrial of 28-year-old China Arnold. Her infant daughter, Paris Talley, died in 2005.

Brandt says Arnold could have stopped the microwave but didn't.

Defense attorney Jon Paul Rion told the jury there was evidence that someone else was responsible.

He cites testimony from an 8-year-old boy who said he saw another boy walk into the kitchen with the baby and heard the microwave go on.

Arnold could face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder.
