LOS ANGELES – Vanessa Hudgens is living out the Disney dream as "High School Musical 3" hits theaters around the globe, but the teen sensation tells Tarts that along with the ups of fame come some very disturbing downs.
"It has become crazy, just the fact that we have people following us around. We're girls with 40-year-old guys chasing us [and] stalking us all day," Hudgens said. "It's really weird. But I feel like it's something that comes with the territory. Unfortunately there is not much you can do about it."
Vanessa's newfound fame, as well as that of her co-stars Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu, meant a lot of extra security was required while filming "3." "There were signs on every corner saying 'No cameras, no cell phones,' nothing. And if they caught you with one, you were gone, got it taken away, everything deleted," newcomer Matt Prokop spills. "Even if you were just texting or making a call, the security people would come by, erase your whole memory. I remember one time walking through with Ashley and Vanessa and there was a person from the school with his camera phone up and literally the security guard jumped in, took the phone off him, and walked off."
But it sounds like Zac Efron was actually the one they should have kept a closer eye on! According to his fellow singer/dancer/actors, this prankster did everything from throw water balloons at the cast and crew to mess with the toilet settings.
"There is a little squirt gun next to the trailer toilet and I'm not going to talk about what it's for but I taped the handle shut so it's permanently turned on and when people go to flush, they get sprayed from the little shower handle," Efron said. "I got some laughs out of it. I got Chris Warren a few times with it."
Piper Perabo to Paris Hilton: Where's Your Bitch?
Let’s be honest — the words "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" are synonymous with Paris Hilton, so we were somewhat surprised that she didn't make a cameo in the family flick of the same title.
Hilton's purse pup Tinkerbell used to be pampered and pap-snapped almost as much as her famous mommy, but it has been quite sometime since this tiny Chihuahua has been seen with the hotel heiress. Although Paris previously claimed the dog was living in the Hamptons, "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" star Piper Perabo still has her concerns.
"I don’t know if she was too busy [to be featured in the film], but I actually think she lost her dog. I don’t think you can be in the movie if you lose your dog, that’s not the message we are going for," Perabo told Tarts. "Let’s just hope it’s safe."
Next up for Piper? Following in the footsteps of Katie Holmes and Jennifer Garner by starring in a play on Broadway. "Reasons to be Pretty" in New York in January.
Love All Around: Reese Takes Jake Shopping & Tom Collects Katie
Reese Witherspoon is certainly making the most of joining boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal as he films "The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" in Europe.
The "Legally Blonde" beauty and her beau were spotted shopping at the trendy MYLA boutique while on a stopover in London on Monday. Reese reportedly spent almost an hour in the dressing room while Jake patiently waited, showing no signs of distress, despite his mother filing for divorce this week after more than 30 years of marriage to his father.
"They were very affectionate and so sweet," an eyewitness told us, adding that the two couldn't stop laughing and touching one another.
Meanwhile Pop Tarts also spotted Katie Holmes and little Suri touching down in hubby Tom Cruise's plane in Los Angeles on Sunday. We're told Holmes was "exhausted" after intense rehearsals in New York ahead of her official Broadway debut on Thursday night.
"She wanted to come home and just relax for a little while. Katie often comes back for less than 24 hours to be with Tom," said our source, adding that he was there waiting and thanked the crew for bringing them back safely even before greeting his wife and child.
Interestingly, we're told Suri is always with her mom, and never stays on the West Coast with her father Tom. Hmm...
John & Jen: It's Back On
After a very public split earlier this year, John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are back together and are this time apparently "more serious then before." We're told the two have decided to give it another go and celebrated Mayer's 31st birthday together at the ultra-exclusive cigar bar Grand Havana Room in L.A. on Wednesday night.

Jen even chose to spend the night with her musician man rather than hang out at her BFFs Courteney Cox and David Arquette 's private house party in the Hills close by.
