Police have arrested a South Carolina woman they say abandoned a toddler at a pastor's home.
Columbia Police Chief Tandy Carter says 29-year-old Misty Lynn Shealy Millender was arrested Thursday and charged with illegal conduct toward a child.
Officials say the woman dropped off her 1-year-old boy with a pastor in North on Monday. Swansea police also accuse Millender of shoplifting. North authorities accuse her of financial card fraud.

The law that allows parents to drop off unwanted children at a safe place only applies to those less than 30 days old. The boy was checked out at a hospital and placed with the Department of Social Services.
Millender was being held in the Richland County jail. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
