Police Interview Person of Interest in California Charred Remains Case

Police interviewed and released a possible person of interest in the investigation of charred human remains found at the home of one of two missing Southern California teens.

Hemet police Capt. Tony Margis said Tuesday that detectives interviewed the individual on Monday for several hours. He declined to provide more information except to say there are no suspects.

Jose Campos, Adrian Rios and Felicia Sharp, all 17, were reported missing last month.

Sharp was later found safe but police found charred and fragmented human remains in Campos' backyard last week, as well as knives, a machete, a severed human foot and bloody clothing.

Margis says authorities are trying to determine if the remains belong to Campos or Rios.

That's a process that could take several weeks.
