BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Authorities say a Georgia woman drowned her daughter, tried to drown her son and then fatally shot herself in the chest.
Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering says Julia Murray called 911 Tuesday morning to say she had drowned her two children and asked for an ambulance. Police say the woman shot herself while on the phone with the dispatcher.
A police officer found Murray alive but unresponsive in the house with a gunshot wound to the upper chest. The 21-year-old mother was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Glynn County Coroner Jimmy Durden says her 4-year-old daughter, Ansli, was found dead.
Murray's 2-year-old son, Creighton, survived the attack and was in stable condition at a Brunswick hospital Tuesday afternoon.
