Plane Makes Scary Landing at Logan Airport

In a scary final approach, a plane sent sparks flying across the sky but landed safely Wednesday after it experienced mechanical problems while landing at Logan International Airport.

Debris and sparks fell from the American Eagle jet, which was carrying about 40 passengers from Toronto, as it started to land at about 8:20 a.m. and the plane pulled back up.

Mechanics on the ground tried to determine what the problem was as the plane flew overhead, but were unable to come up with an explanation.

About an hour after the first attempt, the plane finally landed safely. The jet has since been taken out of service for an inspection, according to the Associated Press.
