No. 6: Robert Rozier

Robert Rozier — a former defensive end for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1979 — is perhaps better-known for his involvement in a Florida cult and his time as a protected federal witness.
After playing in just six games, Rozier was released by the team and later joined "The Brotherhood," a Miami-based cult headed by Yahweh Ben Yahweh.
Despite pleading guilty to four murders and confessing to three more, Rozier's prison term was reduced for testifying against Yahweh.

Rozier served 10 years in prison, was freed and took the name Robert Rameses. But he soon wound up back in prison for bouncing checks, under a "three strikes" law.
