New Mom, 66, Arrives Home With New Baby

A smiling Elizabeth Adeney, 66, cradled her baby as they finally arrived home from the hospital.

Adeney, of Lidgate, in Suffolk, England, became Britain’s oldest mother after giving birth to baby Jolyon, last week. He weighed 5 pounds, three ounces, and was delivered via Caesarean section.

She said she named the baby Jolyon because the name means “young at heart.”

Adeney traveled to the Ukraine for IVF treatments since clinics in Britain refuse to treat woman over the age of 50. A friend of the woman said she is “very, very proud and pleased to be home with her child.”
