Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News Channel's Neil Cavuto in an interview Tuesday evening that the suicide bomber that killed 13 Israeli soldiers in Jenin was only 10 years old, although there was no independent confirmation of his claim.

"We just had 13 soldiers of ours killed in the fighting against terrorist enclaves in Jenin. You know how they were killed? A 10-year-old boy was strapped with explosives and sent by [Palestinian leader Yasser] Arafat's goons to explode," Netanyahu said.

"And of course the soldiers wouldn't shoot," he added.

"This is the kind of monstrosity we're dealing with," Netanyahu said. "We are dealing with a dictator who tells children, Palestinian children in suicide kindergarten camps, that they have to self-immolate in order to kill as many Jews, in order to eventually kill the Jewish state."

A U.S. official told Fox News: "We don't have any information to corroborate that report [of a 10-year-old suicide bomber]. [The report] Frankly does sound suspect, don't you think?"

As for Netanyahu, he made clear that he laid the blame squarely at Arafat's feet.

"Arafat has killed the peace process, he killed the Oslo agreements, shredded it to bits and soaked it in innocent Jewish blood," he said.

"And the only way you're going to get a new peace process is to get rid of Arafat who inculcates a cult of suicides for the goal of polycide — the destruction of the Jewish state," Netanyahu said.
