GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Joining us from Salt Lake City is [Lori Hacking' (search)] father, Eraldo Soares. Welcome, sir.

ERALDO SOARES, LORI HACKING'S FATHER: Well, hi, how are you?

VAN SUSTEREN: Very well. Sir, how are you and your family holding up tonight?

SOARES: We're doing just fine, with all the help from the people from Utah helping us to look for my daughter. That's what I'm here for, to ask for your help to find my daughter. That's what matters the most in my life.

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, we're trying to get a whole lot of publicity out there, sir, in case anyone sees this show and can call in to the tip line, which we'll put up there. But let me ask you, sir — it is now being...

SOARES: Thank you for doing that.

VAN SUSTEREN: We'll do our best. I only hope we can have some success.

SOARES: Yes, to try to find my daughter through the media.

VAN SUSTEREN: Sir, what do you make of your son — the revelation about your son-in-law, that he's now checked himself in to a psychiatric institute and that, apparently, he's had a little bit of a fiction or a myth going on in his life about going to law school? Is that unusual to you that this has emerged?

SOARES: You know, honestly, I don't know anything about what happened to Mark. I'm more concerned about to find my daughter. You know, that's where I'm appealing to your good sense to help me to look for Lori. About Mark, that's not very relevant at this moment to me because I'm here for — I don't live in Utah. I live in California — Fullerton, California. I am a teacher. And I came over here Monday and all the people of — here in Salt Lake City (search), they're beautiful. The police department, the sheriffs, they're being so helpful. And I'd like to thank you and the media, the way that you guys are helping us.

VAN SUSTEREN: Are there any clues in her car? I know that the police have looked in the car, but are there any clues to indicate what might have happened to your daughter?

SOARES: No. I wish I knew. You know, I would have gone after the clues. But I know only one thing: Mark was a very loving husband. He always even opened the door for my daughter. And you know, if you have a children, probably, you would love your son-in-law too, if he treats your daughter the same way that Mark treats my daughter.

VAN SUSTEREN: Where did they meet?

SOARES: Beg your pardon?

VAN SUSTEREN: Where did they meet?

SOARES: I can't hear.

VAN SUSTEREN: Where did your...

(CROSSTALK)

SOARES: Where did they meet? They met in high school.

VAN SUSTEREN: And what did...

SOARES: I think he was a senior, she was a junior. That's when they met.

VAN SUSTEREN: They've searched the apartment. They've apparently taken a mattress. Do you know what the police are looking for?

SOARES: Again, you're dealing with Mark. My point of view is I'm here in Utah from California. I left my two jobs there to talk about Lori. I need your help to help me there. To bring in whatever happens with Mark, that's not relevant. I really need your help. Would you help me?

VAN SUSTEREN: What do you think happened to your daughter?

SOARES: I don't know. That's what we are searching all the fields. Yesterday, I spent eight hours looking in the field for her. And I hope that she is alive and well. That's how I feel. As a matter of fact, I was talking to a wonderful lady here. The night of Monday, when I arrived here start to rain and after going to my friend's house, it start to rain and I sat up, I got my clothes on. I says, “I have to take an umbrella and a jacket to my daughter.”

Suddenly, I realized that I don't know where she is. So I am appealing to the media to help me, to show the pictures of Lori and ask the people to help us.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. Well, we've put up her picture. We've put up the tip line. Sir, we hope we can help out. We've got the information all over the United States. Thank you, sir, for joining us.

SOARES: Thank you so much.
