Heidi Montag Refused to Attend Her Sister’s Birthday Party Without Being Paid

Whatever happened to the good old days when family was more important than finances?

Holly Montag celebrated her 26th Birthday at Empire Hollywood in Los Angeles on Saturday night, but notably absent from the festive affair was Holly’s little sis, Heidi Montag and her hubby Spencer Pratt.

We’re told Heidi was invited, but was a no-show.

"Holly was really wishing that her sister could just be a sister and stop by her birthday party, but Heidi only goes places if she is getting paid," an insider snitched to Tarts. "I mean, this is her sister and she wouldn’t even show up without a fee. That’s disgusting."

The evening ended up garnering publicity, however, as the birthday girl’s BFF and MTV co-star, Stephanie Pratt, was arrested on suspicion of a DUI after leaving. This isn’t the first time the 23-year-old has funded herself on the wrong side of the law. In May 2006 Miss Pratt was arrested in Hawaii for second-degree theft and drug violations.

"She usually doesn’t drive to parties and is always really, really careful," an insider said. "Her mother is just devastated, she is at home with her at the moment trying to lay low."

According to California Law, if convicted Pratt could face up to six months imprisonment.

Miss USA Judge Claudia Jordan Says Carrie Prejean 'Wasn't Prettiest'

Former pageant princess and "Deal or No Deal" beauty Claudia Jordan is one of the few Tinseltowners unafraid to speak her mind, and Carrie Prejean was just one of the talking targets at last Tuesday night’s "Law Abiding Citizens" premiere.

"She needs to go away already. I was a judge [Jordan judged Prejean in both the Miss California and Miss USA pageants] and I can tell you she lost not because of religious discrimination but because she wasn’t the best one. She wasn’t the prettiest, she wasn’t the best in evening or in swimsuit," Jordan said in response to the dethroned Miss California’s recent lawsuit against the state organization alleging religious discrimination. "You can’t disrespect the 50 other women in the competition and say you had it in the bag when you didn’t. How arrogant you are to think you didn’t win because of your religion. I was surprised she even made it into the top five to be honest with you."

The franchise that operates the Miss California Pageant filed a countersuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday alleging that further nude photos and videos of Prejean may exist.

EXCLUSIVE: Halle Berry Wins $40K Bidding War Over Alicia Keys Jewelry

Despite being out of the motion picture world temporarily, Halle Berry still has plenty of money to burn, especially if it’s for a good cause.

Pop Tarts has learned exclusively that Berry walked away from last week’s Keep-A-Child-Alive charity event in NYC with a somewhat lighter bank balance: $40,000 to be exact. The actress was engaged in a bidding war with an unknown guest for quite sometime before finally winning a necklace from her BFF Alicia Keys' new jewelry line, Barber's Daughter.

Other charity-minded celebrity friends like Chris Martin, John Mayer (sans Jen Aniston), Queen Latifah, Iman, and Padma Lakshmi donned specially designed Barber's Daughter dog tags for the event that AK co-designed. The event, also attended by President Bill Clinton, raised nearly $2.5 Million for Keep-A-Child-Alive, Berry's charity that's dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to families whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
