NEW YORK – Her name is Destiny, and her destiny may be to survive the unthinkable — falling from a New York City apartment building's seven-story window.
The 8-year-old girl, Destiny Antonio of the Bronx, fell out her bedroom window Wednesday evening, though it isn't yet clear how it happened. Police said the window had a guard.
The girl landed on a patch of grass, inches away from the pavement, MyFOXNY.com reported.
She isn't in the clear yet but is listed in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center. MyFOXNY.com reports that she suffered several broken bones and a shattered pelvis.
Window guards are required in all New York City apartments with children. Police are investigating but don't suspect foul play.
