That's what it's all about now.

All the speechifyin's basically over. Now it's up to those paid staffers and volunteers in the swing states (search) around the country: They're the ones reminding folks to go to the polls and helping them get there. Whoever has the best "ground game", as politicos like to say, is likely to edge out the other guy.

Tomorrow on "DaySide" (sans audience, sad to say — the election unit has temporarily stolen my studio!) we'll be focusing on the GOTV, or "Get Out the Vote" (search) strategy in both presidential campaigns. Any late-breaking legal challenges or dustups at polling stations, we'll be all over it.

We're hearing there will be a record-breaking voter turnout — 120 million or maybe more — but no one can know for sure until Tuesday night.  It's been a contentious (and sometimes downright angry) campaign season, but it's not all bad to have a high voter turnout (search). I, for one, would be happy to see more people making the effort to be part of the political process.

Fasten your seatbelts — the next 36 hours could be a roller coaster! No matter what happens, we still live in the greatest country on Earth.  See you Tuesday.

Linda
