MIAMI – Activity the Miami International Airport was briefly interrupted Tuesday after a suspicious package was found on a concourse, but authorities said it was not an explosive device.
"It has been cleared at the airport as far as the evacuation," said Lt. Veronica Ferguson, a Miami-Dade police spokeswoman.
The package was spotted at 4:40 p.m. in the gate area of Concourse D.
The area between terminals C and D were evacuated on all three floors for about 30 minutes, but flights were not suspended.
International and domestic flights use those concourses, said Greg Chin, an airport spokesman.
Concourse D handles mainly American Airlines domestic, Caribbean and Latin American flights.
