Danity Kane's Dawn Richard Bares Her Soul (and Body) in New Magazine Spread

MTV star and Danity Kane diva Dawn Richard is ready to set the record straight — she’s not a victim, she’s over any alleged catfight with Aubrey O’Day and, if her newest spread in Vibe magazine tells us anything, she is ready to break out of her shell.

The sexy singer, 26, told FOXNews.com that in her heart, she is forever with the now-dismantled band Danity Kane, but she confessed that she’d like to move on from the drama.

“I’ve been working, grinding … in the studio and getting things together," Richard said. "I can’t say how because it will be revealed on the season finale of 'Making The Band,' but I will say I am definitely moving forward.”

Last October, fans of the hit MTV reality show watched in record numbers as Diddy dismantled the girl-group when he fired O’Day and Wanita “D. Woods” Woodgett following a heated meeting in his New York office. Since then, the gossip world has hung on every word from each of the five girls, waiting for the latest installment of what seemed like the catfight of the year.

Rumors swirled that the other girls hated O’Day, while her fans charged that it was all because she was the breakout star (although Richard’s fans beg to differ).

In the show’s season finale, Richard famously said that the girls simply didn’t get along. Days later, Us magazine ran quotes from Richard criticizing O’Day for an “obnoxious [magazine] cover,” in reference to her appearance on Complex magazine. When O’Day later posed for Playboy, Richard dodged questions saying she didn’t judge people (but adding that had she posed, her mom would “beat” her.)

But Richard says the negative press and coverage of the lives of her and her band mates was unfair and inaccurate.

“I hate when people pit me and Aubrey against each other. That’s the thing that makes me maddest,” she told FOXNews.com. “I’ve had the best times with these girls … I would never wish any ill will on someone who helped me fulfill my dreams. Good for her with Playboy … my comments, her comments, they don’t always have to mean more than what they are.”

“These girls helped me achieve my dream … that is deeper than just a friend or colleague,” she said.
