Comedy Central Comedian Sarah Silverman Sleeps With 'Black God'

One controversial comedian may have crossed the line Wednesday by having sex with God on her TV show.

Sarah Silverman had a one-night stand with God in the season finale of "The Sarah Silverman Program," which aired on Comedy Central Wednesday night.

In the episode, God chooses to speak to Silverman because of a selfless song she sings. She's surprised to learn the man she's speaking to is God. She asks him "Are you God’s black friend?" and then decides to call him "Black God."

The pair end up going back to Silverman's place for a night of passion that includes God asking her "Who made you, monkey? Who created you?" during the height of their passion.

The next morning, after she rebuffs God's attempt to take the relationship further, she kicks him in the groin.

Negative comments posted to the network's Web site questioned the show's taste, the conservative Web site WorldNetDaily reported Thursday.

"God, what are these people thinking?" one comment to the site said. "And I find it frightening that there are people who actually do think these shows are in any way creative or funny."

The program aired Wednesday after the season premiere of "South Park," which poked fun at America's obsession with the use of the n-word.

Silverman, who dates ABC late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel, garnered attention in 2001 for her controversial use of the word "chink" in a joke on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."

New Yorker critic Tad Friend called her show "the meanest sitcom in years — and one of the funniest" in a review earlier this year.

"Her game is to throw out stereotypes in a little-girl voice and with a winsome look that suggests no offense can legitimately be taken," Friend said in his review.

"You might admire Silverman’s boldness, or you might feel that there’s something sneaky in her appropriation of slurs that never wounded her — that it’s the standup equivalent of the person who cuts in line and then can’t believe you object."

Comedy Central plans to re-air "The Sarah Silverman Program" Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. The network has picked up the show for another season.
