A cat in China that has mysteriously grown fur-covered appendages that resemble wings out of its back has animal experts stumped, the London Paper reported Wednesday.
The long-haired white cat appeared normal as a kitten, but as it grew the bat-like "wings" sprouted on either side of its back.
Scientists think the growth on the feline, found in Chongqing, China, may have been caused by chemicals ingested by its mother during pregnancy, or that the deformity developed from two combined embryos, the London Paper reported.
The cat developed its "wings" when it was a year old, but appears to otherwise be in good health.
