Bush's Big Speech: Rate the State!

Secretary of State Colin Powell will meet with U.N. Security Council members next Wednesday to make clear the relationship between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda terrorists, President Bush said Tuesday night in his State of the Union address.
Bush said that the state of the union is strong despite the many challenges it faces both domestically and from threats abroad.
"In all these days of promise and days of reckoning, we can be confident. In a whirlwind of change, and hope, and peril, our faith is sure, our resolve is firm, and our union is strong," the president said in the address delivered in the chamber of the House of Representatives.

Divvying up the address between domestic and international priorities, Bush focused on several initiatives at home that he has stressed for weeks, including an economic stimulus plan and a prescription drug benefit.

I was almost awe struck as I watched the speech. President Bush seemed almost super hero like. Just the right combination of the sensitivity of Clark Kent and the quiet, hardness of The Man of Steel.

Good Speech. Too bad not much of it was the truth. So let's all follow Bush into a War to free the People of Iraq while our own people go homeless, jobless and without health care. by the way Saddam didn't use these weapons in the last war because he didn't want to get NUKED and he won't use them now for the same reasons. We are not the world's police, not yet anyway.

I woke up this morning filled with enthusiasm, confidence, and trust in the President of the United States after his report to the people and the world during his State of the Union address.

Concerning the caller who said Bush should get his head out of his butt... Finally a caller with some brains. He is absolutely right. If we don't fix the infrastructure in this country soon, we won't have a country to defend or tax. This is a priority that has been passed over by everyone. And that's all I have to say about that.

Great speech. Appropriate, thoughtful, and showed great leadership. One thing that I have not heard in any of the comments so far is the moral courage and sense of responsibility that the President is pushing. After eight years of lacking morals, GW is trying to raise the bar on public morality. If you don't believe me, look at what he's trying to do or has done. Every effort that the President has made so far has been to push the general public in a direction of "doing the right thing".

I thought the speech was awesome. President Bush laid out everything clearly. I especially like the part on liberty as a God given right. I am also pleased that he mentioned that Seniors could pick and choose a medical plan. I am so tired of hearing the Democrats state otherwise and scaring the elderly into thinking they will have little to no choice.
