GEORGETOWN, Ky. – A Kentucky man has pleaded not guilty to a felony after police say they found the mummified remains of his disabled sister in his trunk.
Timothy Allen Brown pleaded not guilty Thursday to a charge of knowingly abusing or neglecting an adult.
The 30-year-old remains jailed on $12,000 bond.
Police say they found 31-year-old Penny Brown's severely decomposed body after police towed her brother's car from St. Louis to Kentucky last month. Her body was wrapped in quilts and plastic and police believe it may have been in her brother's apartment up to two years.
Police say Timothy Brown's 8-year-old son was taken from the apartment in September after social workers found filthy conditions.
A message was left with public defender Doug Crickmer.
