British Military Helicopter Crashes in Northern England

A British army helicopter crashed late Wednesday near an army base in northern England, and at least eight people were taken to hospital, officials said.

The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. Seven people were taken to two hospitals by Royal Air Force Sea King helicopters after a helicopter crashed in a wooded area near the Catterick Garrison in North East Yorkshire, about 240 miles (385 kilometers) north of London, a Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity in line with service policy.
