Bristol Palin: I Have Bigger Worries Than a Graduation Party

Bristol Palin is excited to be finished with high school, but says she has “more important” things to worry about than celebrating her graduation at a party with her friends.
In a new interview with People magazine, the 18-year-old mom to Tripp and daughter to former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin opens up about the whirlwind past nine months that saw her mom’s campaign, an engagement to boyfriend Levi Johnston and their subsequent break up, and the birth of her son.
“Girls need to imagine and picture their life with a screaming newborn baby and then think before they have sex,” Palin told People. “Think about the consequences.”

And Palin is determined to help keep those thoughts at the forefront of young women’s minds by advocating for teen-pregnancy prevention.
But the young mom is hardly deterred by her situation, and she isn’t taking a back seat role. Indeed, she has worked two jobs to help pay for diapers, wakes up twice to feed Tripp, breastfed for a month and still managed to finish school.
“If girls realized the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex,” she said. “Trust me, nobody.”
