Yankees get reliever Qualls from Phils

The New York Yankees have acquired right-handed reliever Chad Qualls from the Philadelphia Phillies.
In return, the Yankees gave up a player to be named later or cash.
Qualls, 33, was designated for assignment by the Phillies last Thursday with a 1-1 record and 4.60 ERA in 35 appearances this season. He has given up 39 hits in 31 1/3 innings.

The nine-year veteran has pitched for five teams and is 39-35 with a 3.82 ERA and 51 saves in 572 games out of the bullpen.
