Stuttgart, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the Porsche Grand Prix final with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 win over second-seeded Simona Halep on Saturday.
After squandering a 5-4 lead in the second set, the fourth-seeded Wozniacki won four games in a row in the third set to go up 5-1.
Halep fought off three match points and broke Wozniacki's serve, but Wozniacki broke back in the next game to prevail after nearly three hours.
Wozniacki will be playing in her first clay-court final since 2011. She was the Stuttgart runner-up that same year.
Despite the loss, Halep will move past Maria Sharapova to No. 2 in the world rankings on Monday.
Germany's Angelique Kerber beat Madison Brengle 6-3, 6-1 in the other semifinal. Kerber won the Family Circle Cup earlier this month.
The Stuttgart champ will earn $108,000 and a new Porsche 911 Carrera sports car.
