Wood scores 22, Brown makes key plays that lead NC State past Virginia Tech 90-86 in OT

Scott Wood scored 22 points and Lorenzo Brown scored six of his 15 in overtime to help North Carolina State beat Virginia Tech 90-86 on Saturday.

C.J. Leslie added 16 points while Richard Howell had 10 points and 16 rebounds for the Wolfpack (18-7, 7-5 Atlantic Coast Conference).

The preseason league favorites were 7 of 8 from the free-throw line in the final minute of OT to win their second straight.

Erick Green scored 29 points while Jarell Eddie added 17. Eddie's 3-pointer put the Hokies up 84-83 with 1:45 left in OT.

After the teams traded turnovers, Tyler Lewis hit two free throws with 51.8 seconds left to give N.C. State an 85-84 lead.

Brown sandwiched two sets of two made free throws around a critical steal from Green with about 20 seconds left.
