Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Wizards forward Nene has been suspended for Sunday's Game 4 of the team's Eastern Conference quarterfinals series with Chicago for his altercation with the Bulls' Jimmy Butler in Friday's matchup between the teams.

Nene received two technical fouls and was ejected after grabbing Butler by the neck and head-butting him with 8:28 remaining of the Wizards' eventual 100-97 Game 3 loss at Verizon Center. The result trimmed Washington's lead in the series to two games to one.

The Brazilian veteran played a key role in the Wizards' two victories in Chicago to begin the series, dropping in 24 points on 11-of-17 shooting in Game 1 and going 8-of-13 from the field in a 17-point, seven-rebound effort during Tuesday's 101-99 Washington win.

Trevor Booker is expected to take Nene's place in the starting lineup for Sunday's contest.
