With Whitehurst's finger still sore, Titans sign QB Dominique Davis to help finish preseason
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Tennessee Titans have signed quarterback Dominique Davis to the roster, giving them depth for their preseason finale Thursday night at a position where Jake Locker is expected to play little and backup Charlie Whitehurst still is nursing a sore right pinkie.
The Titans announced the move Tuesday before practice.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Davis spent two seasons in Atlanta as an undrafted free agent of East Carolina, and he played in one game last season. The Falcons waved him in June.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Titans conclude the preseason Thursday against Minnesota before making their final roster cuts. They will be keeping Locker, Whitehurst and rookie Zach Mettenberger for the season.
