With Whitehurst's finger still sore, Titans sign QB Dominique Davis to help finish preseason

The Tennessee Titans have signed quarterback Dominique Davis to the roster, giving them depth for their preseason finale Thursday night at a position where Jake Locker is expected to play little and backup Charlie Whitehurst still is nursing a sore right pinkie.

The Titans announced the move Tuesday before practice.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Davis spent two seasons in Atlanta as an undrafted free agent of East Carolina, and he played in one game last season. The Falcons waved him in June.

The Titans conclude the preseason Thursday against Minnesota before making their final roster cuts. They will be keeping Locker, Whitehurst and rookie Zach Mettenberger for the season.
