Bad Gastein, Austria – Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium and France's Alize Cornet were semifinal winners Saturday and will meet for the title at the Gastein Ladies tennis event.
The second-seeded Wickmayer earned a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 win over Luxembourg's Mandy Minella after the seventh-seeded Cornet had blitzed third-seeded Ksenia Pervak of Kazakhstan in a 6-2, 6-2 rout.
Cornet advanced despite having her serve broken four times, but she countered by winning each of Pervak's eight service games.
Sunday's final will be the fifth of Cornet's career and her second of 2012. She lost to Francesca Schiavone in the Strasbourg final just before the French Open and claimed her lone title four years ago in Budapest.
Wickmayer, a loser to Mona Barthel in the Hobart final back in January, is 3-4 all-time in title matches. Her last tournament victory came in Auckland two years ago.
The 22-year-old women have met just once previously, with Wickmayer claiming a 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) victory three years ago in Luxembourg.
Sunday's champion will claim $37,000.
