Sacramento State has played Pac-12 spoiler before, shocking Oregon State to open last season.
On Saturday, the Hornets took down another Pac-12 opponent, Colorado, 30-28, on their way to yet another FCS victory over an FBS program in 2012.
That number went to seven when defending FCS national North Dakota State won at Colorado State, 22-7, later in the day.

Sacramento State coach Marshall Sperbeck called upon an unlikely member of his team - his walk-on place-kicker Edgar Castaneda - with the game on the line.
As time expired, Castaneda not only kicked a game-winning 30-yard field goal, but he also earned a scholarship along the way.
Sperbeck told his team the news in his postgame speech after the Hornets (1-1) left Boulder with a few hundred thousand dollars and the stunning win.

Sophomore quarterback Garrett Safron threw for 312 yards on 25-of-37 passing. It was a career-best performance in Sacramento State's first win of the season.
Receivers Morris Norrise and Chris Broadnax combined for 12 receptions for 196 yards for Sacramento State, which opens up Big Sky Conference play next weekend versus Northern Colorado.
Earlier in the day, Illinois State became the fifth FCS program this season to defeat an FBS opponent with an impressive 31-14 victory at Eastern Michigan.

Illinois State trailed 14-10 at halftime, but scored 17 straight in the second half.
The Redbirds (2-0) torched the Eagles for 216 yards behind Darrelynn Dunn (32 carries, 129 rushing yards, two touchdowns) and Jonathon Miller, who scored on a 58-yard first-quarter run in the first quarter,
Quarterback Matt Brown threw for 155 yards and a 22-yard touchdown to Donovan Harden.

The Bearkats humbled future Southland Conference member Incarnate Word, putting up 484 yards of offense compared to just 88 for the Cardinals. Incarnate Word rushed 20 times for minus-46 yards.
No. 2 North Dakota State (2-0) 22 Colorado State (1-1) 7
North Dakota State became the third FCS team to defeat an FBS program on Saturday with its 15-point victory over Colorado State. The stingy Bison defense allowed Colorado State to convert just one third-down play and posted four sacks.

The Citadel (2-0) 23, No. 3 Georgia Southern (1-1) 21
Redemption was sweet for the Bulldogs, who beat Southern Conference foe Georgia Southern for the first time since 2006, on Thomas Warren's 37-yard field goal with 35 seconds left.
In last year's 14-12 loss, The Citadel could only blame poor special teams play for the defeat. This year, it was Georgia Southern which missed a late 31-yard field goal.

Montana State scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to escape on the road with a win. Quarterback DeNarius McGhee threw for 206 yards and one touchdown, with two interceptions.

JMU senior quarterback Justin Thorpe was 14-of-18 for 140 yards and threw two touchdowns, while rushing for 101 yards and one score. The Dukes had a four- touchdown lead at halftime and averaged 7.5 yards per rush.

Youngstown State didn't have a let-down after its victory over Pittsburgh one week ago. Valparaiso gave up 334 yards on the ground, while Youngstown's Torrian Pace accounted for 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Old Dominion collected 350 yards of total offense and quarterback Taylor Heinicke passed for three touchdowns to three different receivers for 213 yards.

In his second start under center for the Panthers, Sawyer Kollmorgen passed for three touchdowns and 229 yards. Austin Ebertowski rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eagles' bid for a second straight upset over an FBS program fell short after a late fourth-quarter rally. Quarterback Kyle Padron threw for 379 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions.

Brian Kass directed a Wofford triple option run attack which rushed for over 400 yards for the second week in a row. Wofford totaled 602 yards.

The Mountaineers won one of the most anticipated games in FCS regular-season history. Quarterback Jamal Jackson threw for 260 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 65 yards and one TD.

McNeese State used a balanced attack (202 passing yards, 282 rushing yards) in its home-opening win. The Cowboys scored four times on the ground with four different players.

The Sycamores, who are known for its rushing attack, played lights out defensively. Division II Quincy totaled only 114 yards.

Quarterbacks Wynrick Smothers (358 yards, five touchdowns, one interception) and Casey Brockman (445 yards, one touchdown, three interceptions) put up video game-like numbers in an offensive battle. Despite giving up 537 yards of total offense, Central Arkansas came away with the win.
