Birmingham, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, the club announced on Thursday.
Clark was forced off the pitch during the first half of Villa's 2-1 win over Tottenham earlier this month, missed the FA Cup semifinal triumph over Liverpool last week and will miss next month's final against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium.
"It's a real blow for Ciaran but that's the nature of the game, when you're in there, there's a chance of getting injured, said Villa manager Tim Sherwood. "He's certainly one that doesn't hold back and puts his body on the line. Unfortunately, he's caught one there and we'll see him next season."
