Vicky Hurst and Ryann O'Toole were named captain's picks to the American Solheim Cup team by Rosie Jones on Sunday.

The U.S. team was finalized after the completion of the Safeway Classic. The top-10 qualifiers made the squad on points, then Jones finished off her team with the additions of Hurst and O'Toole.

Cristie Kerr led the points race, followed by Kraft Nabisco Champion Stacy Lewis, Morgan Pressel, Angela Stanford, Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie, Brittany Lincicome, Brittany Lang, Juli Inkster and Christina Kim.

Lewis was the only Solheim Cup rookie to make the team on points.

Heading into the Safeway Classic, Kim's spot was the only one up for grabs. The top nine could not be caught mathematically.

Kerr will be playing in her sixth Solheim Cup, while this will be the fourth for Creamer and Stanford. Pressel, Lincicome and Kim are headed for their third appearance, while Wie and Lang are going to their second Solheim Cup.

Inkster is by far the most experienced player. This will be her ninth Solheim Cup and took an assistant position under Jones, saying she didn't want to play in another one.

But the 51-year-old qualified yet again.

Hurst was 13th on the points list heading into this week and although she's made a ton of cuts in 2011, she's only posted two top 20s, which is how you accumulate points.

She has no Solheim Cup experience, but the 21-year-old is considered one of the bright young stars of American golf. Hurst won five times on the Futures Tour in 2008, but her tie for fifth at the Safeway Classic was just her sixth top-10 finish on the LPGA Tour.

O'Toole is by far the least experienced player on the team. She has played just seven LPGA Tour events this year, eight in her career. O'Toole jumped onto the scene with a ninth-place finish at the U.S. Women's Open. She shared fifth at the Safeway Classic for her only other top-10 finish this year.

Hurst ended 11th on the U.S. Solheim Cup points list, while O'Toole moved to 18th after the Safeway Classic.

Four members of the European team, captained by Alison Nicholas, have already locked up their spots through the European points standings.

Laura Davies, Melissa Reid, Safeway Classic winner Suzann Pettersen and Christel Boeljon made the team. For Davies, she will be on her 12th Solheim Cup and is the only player to participate in every staging of the event.

The next four spots on Nicholas' team go to the next four players in the world rankings, not otherwise qualified. Those places will be finalized Monday, August 29, 2011 and as of now, will be Maria Hjorth, Anna Nordqvist, Catriona Matthew and Sophie Gustafson.

Nicholas will make her four captain's picks after the world rankings come out on the 29th.

The Solheim Cup is scheduled for Sept. 23-25 at Killeen Castle in Ireland.

The U.S. won the last three Solheim Cups, including the 2009 edition at Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois.
