Valencia's brace lifts Pachuca over Morelia

Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Enner Valencia scored on either side of the intermission on Saturday as Pachuca earned a comfortable 3-0 victory over Morelia at the Estadio Hidalgo.

Pachuca opened the scoring three minutes before the halftime whistle as Valencia bagged his first of the afternoon and Jurgen Damm doubled the hosts' advantage one minute into the second half.

Pachuca had the better of the play throughout the 90 minutes, keeping 55 percent of the ball and firing nine shots on target. They put the result away with eight minutes to play when Valencia completed his brace to wrap up all three points.

The result sees Pachuca rise to fourth place in the Mexican Clausura table with 13 points, while Morelia stays in 12th place with nine points.

Also in Mexico on Saturday, Daniel Luduena netted a brace to lead UNAM to a 3-1 victory over America, while Jesus Manzo's 42nd-minute tally was enough to send Tigres to a 1-0 result against Veracruz.

Elias Hernandez, Matias Britos, Carlos Pena Rodriguez and Miguel Sabah all found the back of the net as Leon eased to a 4-2 result over Santos, while Lucas Silva de Oliveira's 21st-minute strike handed Monterrey a 1-0 win over Atlas.

On Sunday, Isaac Brizuela scored in the 89th minute to send Toluca to a 1-0 win over Guadalajara, while Atlante and Puebla played to a scoreless draw.

Friday's action saw Rogelio Mart���nez score a brace to lead Cruz Azul to a 3-1 win over Queretaro and Carlos Ochoa netted a first-half double for Jaguares in a 3-0 result over Tijuana.
