Unruh scores 23 points, leads 2nd-half surge as Northern Colorado defeats Portland State 85-75

Tate Unruh scored 23 points and made five 3-pointers to lead Northern Colorado to an 85-75 victory against Portland State on Saturday night.
Derrick Barden added 18 points and Tevin Svihovec and Paul Garnica 10 each for the Bears (11-17, 9-10 Big Sky), who pulled away in the second half to stay in the hunt for a conference tournament berth, with one game remaining. The top seven teams qualify for the postseason.
Aaron Moore scored 20 points and Michael Harthun 18 for the Vikings (8-18, 5-13), who were eliminated from tournament contention.

Portland State led 56-54 in the second half when Northern Colorado went on a 26-8 run over the next 8½ minutes. Unruh had 11 points and drilled three 3-pointers during the surge.
