UNC loses starting C Davis for rest of season

As if it couldn't get worse for North Carolina, Tar Heels big man Ed Davis is expected to miss the rest of the season with a broken left wrist.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore suffered the injury midway through the second half in Wednesday night's loss against Duke.
North Carolina said the wrist will be immobilized for at least the next six weeks -- which makes it highly unlikely he'll return to the court this season.

Davis is averaging 13.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.8 blocks this season for North Carolina, which is almost certainly NIT-bound with a 13-11 overall record and a 2-7 mark in ACC play.
The Tar Heels are already without two injured big men -- Tyler Zeller and Travis Wear.
Davis' injury will also likely mean extended minutes for long and talented freshman John Henson.
