UMKC outlasts IUPUI 85-77 in double overtime

Spencer Johnson made game-tying 3-point shots near the end of regulation and the first overtime period, then UMKC pulled away in the second overtime for an 85-77 victory over IUPUI on Thursday.
Jay Couisnard led the Kangaroos (11-8, 4-4 Summit) with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Johnson added 24 points and Reggie Chamberlain had 14, including eight straight free throws in the final 42 seconds of the second overtime to seal the victory. He was 10 for 10 at the line in the game.
Alex Young had a career-high 32 points and 10 rebounds for IUPUI (11-10, 5-3), which had beaten UMKC seven straight times. Leroy Nobles added 19 points, and Christian Siakam had eight points and 12 rebounds.

Johnson's 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left in regulation tied the game at 59-59. He hit another with 1:28 remaining in the first overtime to make it 67-67 — the final points of that period.
