UConn championship parade being planned
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Plans are in the works for a parade to honor the national champion Connecticut men's basketball team.
Organizers say Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's office is working with the school to find a date and time that would work for everybody.
Laura Soll, a spokeswoman for the organizers, said the route likely will be similar to UConn victory parades in years past, starting and ending at the state Capitol.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}UConn, which was picked to finish 10th in the Big East in the preseason, completed a remarkable 11-0 run through the postseason on Monday with a 53-41 win over Butler in the national championship game.
