U.S. off to 2-0 lead on Slovakia in Davis Cup playoff

Isner gave the Americans an early upper hand with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, 6-2 verdict over Norbert Gambos on an indoor hardcourt at Sears Centre. Querrey followed up with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, 6-3 decision over Martin Klizan to stake the U.S. to a 2-0 lead in this best-of-five tie.
This week's winner in Chicago will qualify for the World Group in next year's Davis Cup, which the record 32-time champion Americans haven't captured since 2007.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Saturday's doubles will feature the mighty American Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike, fresh off their U.S. Open title taking on Lukas Lacko and Michal Mertinak. Sunday's reverse singles have the 16th-ranked Isner facing Klizan and the world No. 51 Querrey battling Gombos.
