TV rating up 14 percent for women's title game

The NCAA women's basketball championship game has drawn its highest television rating since 2004.

Undefeated Baylor's 80-61 victory over Notre Dame on Tuesday night on ESPN earned a 3.2 rating. That's up 14 percent from last season's Texas A&M-Notre Dame matchup.

It was the best rating since a 4.3 for Connecticut's 70-61 win over Tennessee eight years ago.

Star center Brittney Griner led the Lady Bears with 26 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks against the Irish. Baylor became the first team — men's or women's — in NCAA history to win 40 games.

Ratings measure the percentage of homes with televisions tuned into a program.
