Edgar Benitez scored two minutes into stoppage time as Toluca extended its perfect start in the Mexican Apertura to five matches Sunday with a 1-0 win over Pachuca.

Benitez accepted a through ball from Luca Silva and put a right-footed shot to the bottom-right corner in stoppage time, as Toluca made it five-for-five this season. Toluca opened its cushion atop the table to five points over Leon and Tijuana. Pachuca has just one win, and already sits 10 points off the pace.

On Saturday, Cristian Benitez, Daniel Montenegro and Rubens Sambueza scored in the first half as America downed Queretaro, 4-0, to remain undefeated, Osvaldo Martinez scored in the 84th as 10-man Atlante tied Monterrey, 1-1, Emanuel Villa scored twice as UNAM edged Santos, 2-1, Carlos Fiero scored in the 83rd as Guadalajara edged San Luis, 1-0, and Atlas tied Jaguares, 1-1.

On Friday, Alfredo Moreno and Fernando Arce both scored in the opening half as Tijuana beat Tigres, 2-1, Joao Rojas and Carlos Morales scored in the closing stages of the first half to spark Morelia to a 3-0 win over Puebla, and Leon tied Cruz Azul, 1-1.
