Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tennessee Titans have placed quarterback Jake Locker on injured reserve and added quarterback Jordan Palmer to the active roster.
Locker separated his left shoulder in Sunday's 16-11 loss to the New York Jets. He was hurt in the second quarter when he was hit by linebacker Quinton Coples after delivering a pass.
A first-round pick by the Titans in 2011, Locker's career has been interrupted by multiple injuries. He missed time earlier this season because of a right thumb injury before losing the starting job to rookie Zach Mettenberger.

Locker completed 86-of-146 passes for 993 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions in seven games.
Palmer adds depth to the injury-riddled position. Locker made his first start since Week 5 only because Mettenberger was out with a right shoulder injury.
The younger brother of Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer, Jordan has only four games of NFL experience.

Charlie Whitehurst, who relieved Locker against the Jets, is expected to start Thursday's game at Jacksonville.
