Timeout gaffe costs Clemson in 72-70 loss to Gardner-Webb in Paradise Jam

Clemson freshman Donte Grantham called time out when the Tigers didn't have any and Jarvis Davis made two late free throws to capitalize and give Gardner-Webb a 72-70 victory in the first round of the Paradise Jam on Friday.

After Davis knocked down the free throws for the Runnin' Bulldogs (2-1), Clemson (1-2) had three shots at the rim but could not convert as the buzzer sounded.

Tyler Strange scored 19 points to lead Gardner-Webb, including a 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds left to tie the game and set up more drama in the finish.

Senior guard Damarcus Harrison scored 19 points to lead Clemson. Rod Hall added 16 points for the Tigers.
