Detroit, MI – The Detroit Tigers have placed outfielder day disabled list because of a right thumb injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season.
Boesch underwent surgery on September 6 to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb. He finished the campaign batting .283 with 16 homers and 54 runs batted in.
The move to the disabled list opens a potential postseason roster spot for a September call-up.
