Defending champion Matt Kuchar shared the lead Thursday when the first round of The Barclays was suspended due to darkness.
Kuchar was seven-under par through 16 holes and was joined atop the leaderboard by Harrison Frazar, who fired at 64 at Plainfield Country Club, and William McGirt, who was minus-seven through 11 holes.
Vijay Singh and Jonathan Byrd carded matching six-under 65s and were matched in fourth place by Chris Stroud, who was minus-six after 13 holes.

Adam Scott was one of three players that posted five-under 66s in the opening round.
There was a three-hour, 15-minute delay Thursday that pushed things back. There are more weather problems on the way as Hurricane Irene is expected to effect the Northern New Jersey area by later Saturday evening.
This the first event of the FedExCup Playoffs, which got underway Thursday without Tiger Woods, who didn't qualify, Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, who is taking the week off, and J.B. Holmes, who is slated for brain surgery next week.
