Foxborough, MA – Toronto FC sustained another defeat on Saturday to run its winless streak to 10 games after a 2-0 setback against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium.
Diego Fagundez netted the opening goal in the 23rd minute and Juan Agudelo secured the victory with his second goal for the Revs in stoppage time.
Saturday's defeat is the fifth straight for TFC, who lost by more than one goal for the first time this season.
There wasn't a lot to do for either goalkeeper in the first half, but the opener arrived in the 23rd minute when Chris Tierney got down the left wing and delivered a brilliant curling cross to the back post for Fagundez, who easily volleyed home from six yards.
Like it has for most of the season, Toronto struggled in the offensive third and Lee Nguyen nearly made it 2-0 to the Revs on the hour mark when he hammered a shot from 30 yards off the underside of the crossbar.
Toronto still had a chance to claim a point as the game entered stoppage time, but substitute Saer Sene did some good work near the end line and crossed to Agudelo for a simple close-range finish.
