Texas says QB Heard injured shoulder
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texas quarterback Jerrod Heard, who is in a three-way competition for the starting job, injured a shoulder in spring practice.
The school said Wednesday that the injury happened Tuesday and that Heard was being evaluated, but released no other details.
Heard, a sophomore, is competing with senior Tyrone Swoopes and freshman Shane Buechele for the starting job next season in new coordinator Sterlin Gilbert's offense.
